Angela Fisher (Australian)
Carol Beckwith (American)
Poverty and majesty, the entwined themes that afford so much power to the work of these two photographers are strongly in evidence in this image of a young boy caressing his namesake ox.
This image, from Fisher and Beckwith’s book Dinka, was purchased in Paris in 2009 at a fund-raiser for the Dinka people of Southern Sudan on the occasion of the book’s release.
