Bamileke artist (Cameroon)
Used to store anything from medicinal herbs to cooking spices, this gourd has been hollowed out and fitted with a small trapazoidal door as well as a locking mechanism fashioned from fiber loops and a porcupine quill. The woven handle allows it to be hung from the wall or rafters.
